Instructor Application Process
Registration to be a Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½ Food Safety Instructor requires a one-time administrative fee of $50 upon the approval of your application. Applications take 7 - 14 days to process.
All Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½ Food Safety Trainer applicants must show evidence of experience in three areas:
- Food safety knowledge
- Minimum one year classroom training and/or teaching experience
- Minimum three years experience in the food service industry
Additionally, trainers must have a valid ANAB-accredited Food Manager certification, a valid REHS/RS credential, or a valid CP-FS credential.
Exam Proctors
Food safety instructors who are registered with us can also proctor exams accredited by the Conference for Food Protection-American National Standards Institute (CFP-ANSI), including the Certified Food Safety Manager Exam with the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals (NRFSP) and the ServSafe Certification Exam with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.
Becoming an NRFSP Proctor
To become a proctor with NRFSP, complete their and the Proctor Application.
- To receive Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½ Trainer benefits and discounts, type "Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½" along with your company name in the "Company Name" field of the application. This tells NRFSP that you are a trainer with Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½. If you need help with the Proctor Application, email customer.service@nrfsp.com or call 800-446-0257.
- After completing the Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½ Trainer application and proctor process with NRFSP, they will provide you with a Proctor number. Use this number when ordering materials and exams, and when teaching.

Receiving Test Results
To receive the test results from the NRFSP website for your proctored Food Manager courses, On the return envelope, under "Preferences for returning certificate/fail notice only":
- Check box next to “Please follow special instructions belowâ€
- In the box, write "Please cc the test results to me" and include your email address
